I have used a mach3 for around 10 years now, of different varitions turbo, fusion, fusion power etc.
Thinking of changing to a straight razor (cut throat). or possibly a single blade safety.
Does anyone else here use one?. Are they difficult to get the hang of?...without cutting my face off?
I already own a shaving bowl/ badger brush and ancillaries.
cheers

I've been using mine for about a year now and must admit the first couple of shaves were a bit tricky but now I'd never dream of going back to a Gillette, Mine is a Merkur Futur

I fancy something like that merkur, seems like a lot to spend though are there cheaper alternatives?

The new merkurs are a bit cheaper.
or something like Muhle.
Im thinking of spending big like an Ikon, then it'll inspire me to keep on using it.

Have a look on the www.badgerandblade.com forums; loads of useful info/reviews on there.

You can get a basic handle from Boots or Amazon for a couple quid and some decent blades from Amazon, again for a couple pounds.
When I've ran out of the new Gillette's I'm gonna try them

Is there an advantage to using a straight razor?

Not paying £57 a blade when it needs changing and hairs on your chest I think

I manage to cut myself enough using safety blades, so I think I'll give cut throats a miss. Far too clumsy.
