I'm close to purchasing a new axle quite cheap aswell but the guys asked me if it matters the fact that the drums have been blasted on the inside? haven't got much experience with axles and drums so I thought I'd ask you fellas !!

As in shot blasted? Shouldnt think so if there cleaned out properly, swap yours over tho if worried

it does matter, it'll make it abrasive and your shoes will wear 10x faster

If something's been shot blasted it means it's been blasted with steel shot. If it's been blasted with anything else it'll still leave an abrasive surface. You might find that the brakes work better tbh but I'd be sticking them on a lathe and giving them a skim if it was me.

I have a set off back plates of my car ive gone for disc, they have new wheel cylinders, shoes and a spring set. Only had 4 weeks use.
