what are the issues?

I'm sure they run the same auto box as the RRS dont they?

Oil cooler rots through the side of the box, box fills with coolant, shags torque converter, revs surge and hunt-dependent on level of damage, I saw quotes of between £2500 and £8000 on the D3 forum-fortunately it had only just happened on our's so was sorted without too many problems by it would put me off another D3 auto

Comfortable, toys, and literally pulls like a train. Mine has been remapped with a ridiculous amount of torque.
Be aware, V10 tdi is a thirsty bastard of a car. I average 17.5MPG of casual driving and have never seen more than 22MPG on a motorway run
Also, expensive when they go wrong. Alternator just cost me a scary amount.
