Well gents (and ladies).

I can see there is a lot of tattoo chat in here these days.

I have been considering a first tattoo for a long time.

I doodled this about a year ago.

Its the family crest with the year of birth and death of my father.

Any opinions?

If the symmetry of that isn't spot on it will look turd. Do your homework and find a top artist.

No doubt the meaning of the tat is nice, but the look/quality is terrible

I'm pretty sure that's his idea that he'll get redrawn properly by the artist.
I like the idea but id put the dates above and below because they're uneven on the side

I'd give that a Tattoo ARTIST, not some monkey to redraw. Has the basis for something really nice.

Yeah get hunting for a decent artist, if you don't like his drawing ask him to change it if you still don't like it go somewhere else.
It may cost you for a couple of drawings and then cost you even more for a decent artist but I wish I'd done that first time round and put the effort in. I've just spent over 2 years finding the right guy and place and getting my design right, now spending a fortune getting an old crap one layered off
