Not that you want to be driving on the road with that. Both the fronts on the fiesta were on the markers (2mm), went round a roundabout in the rain and it kept going straight

So they were 1.6mm below the legal requirements??

Wut? They werent bald, they had tread, but they were about 2mm. Not ideal in the rain, made a massive difference when I switched to 15's with 7mm on.

i need a tread gauge , i noticed the rears look kinda low.. x5 need doing ..

Tread depth gets measured from the markers. Legal requirement is 1.6mm from the marker. So if yours were on the markers, that makes them 1.6mm below the legal requirements.

No they aren't.

1.6mm across the full circumference, not at the set points where the markers are.

the markers are 1.6 mm, so when they are level its time to change them.

I'll dig up the other thread where some1 said tread depth is measured to the markers.

Markers are so you can see when it's got to the 1.6mm.
