ideal to learn john, pick a song and learn to play it step by step. ultimate guitar site has tabs on, probably loads of other sites as well. pick the tab version and it shows you what string and what number fret to play.

Buy something decent, or you'll end up with loads of cheap guitars you don't wanna play in the future.

Get a fender strat or telecaster, and a Marshall half stack

Don't be daft. He could dislike it and give up in 2 week

I've got a Squire Strat and a tiny Marshall practice amp that I got for my 16th birthday, had these rock star visions but then realised you actually have to put the time in practicing to be any good

So here we are 8 years later and I might have another pop. Can anyone recommend a good iPhone app they use to tune their electric guitar?

I've always wanted to learn. I was bought a cheap acoustic when I was younger. I'm left handed and it was strung right handed. I couldn't do it right handed so got rid!

I have a mate who is a really good guitarist and gives people lessons. Hardly ever see him but keep meaning to se if he will teach me. He works in a second hand music shop too.
