hi guys got a problem was hoping someone could please help me out any advice need, well here goes my head gasket went on my car so i had the head skimmed bought brand new gasket set with head bolts ect, while i was at it change the crank seal and also bought and fitted new water pump and timming belt kit, put the car back together now hoping it would be fine, but no it was basically when i start the car up it sounds very lump and it pops if you get me soon put foot on accelerator the car little bit more lump then cuts out, ( car cant be moved it wont pull off cause of this ) was thinking it might be the coil pack or something dont know its a 1.2 single point injection

timing as been check 3 time no lies it perfect, been like this for 3weeks now without a car, even took car apart and bought new head set ect

if it was ok before you stripped it I'd assume its something not put back on right rather than something else broken, fuel lines back on the right way? all electrics connected? do you get an eml light?

Did you torque the head bolts up correctly?

Are the ht leads on right. Sounds like you could of got them mixed up

Head deffo wents of mixed water, all fuel leads on correctly, and ht leads this why we so confused, loads people it could be thee coil pack has gone but I'm not buying one if its not if you get me, was looking for some to try there part

Bottom pulley lined up correctly on the Woodruff key?

ive had cars that have been a nightmare to start after doing head gasket for no reason. try warming up plugs before trying to start it next time?

looks like im gonna get new engine got offered a 1.4 8v what they like is it werht fitting

Pretty much the same as the 1.2. Probably not worth giving up on this engine yet if you've done all the work. Will be a silly thing. Check everything again, did you take a before picture for position of the breathers and vacuum hoses before

that one thing i always do it take pics to remember, iv tryed everything now im gonna look for a cheap coil pack first just in case if not im gonna look for something else

try the one off the 1.4, they are all the same anyway

think so, the part number is the same on my 1.6 c16se as the one on a 1.2 8v engine, might be just 8v's that are the same though

Compression test it to make sure all good? Put new plugs in it there only cheap aswell

Bottom crank pulley lined up and woodruff key ok ie not damaged?
