It all depends on how old the car is. I sold my 106gti with 100k on the clock but to look and drive it you'd think it had less than half that.

Resale value is what worries me on cars over 100k.

It dosn't bother me off in the slightest, but it will put off the majority of potential buyers in the future.

As long as theres plenty before that then i dont see a problem.

Just have a look for common faults on them and see if said part has been replaced. At that milage the common faults should already have occured and been sorted.

thats how i see it anyway

Valid point but my worry is that bushes, exhaust hangers, even engine mounts and the likes of other things with a high mileage 'rating' will be starting to go. Wouldn't put me off the rght car though, just means you need to be more wary when buying

mine was on 68k when i got it, wasn't bothered at all.

as long as it's been serviced regularly and parts have been changed then it should be fine.

it's a lottery though, could go bang in 5 miles or 50k miles.

My car is on 120k and drives excellent still and is in excellent condition a few mates have sat in it and guessed it at half the miles and couldn't believe how well it drove for a 120k car.
It has got full service history though.

If its on original turbo then be prepared to replace that before long and don't be surprised if things like bushes need replacing
