Going to have to do one or the other mate, cant see it being any different to when 'on the road' insurance wise, wouldn't of thought you even need to tell them

Have you got another car Craig? If you have or you could get one you could just swap insurance over so it's still going and not having to stop it. Also if it's something less valuable than the corsa it'll go down which will be better.

That's what I did with my bro's car when mine was off road.

Either cancel it, speak to them and see if you can change to just fire and theft whilst it's off the road or leave it as it is.

Not strictly true, because if his car is insured as an LET, it will be on a modified policy more than likely, and switching to a bog standard car, or something with less of a spec list, there is a good chance the premium won't actually go down.

Happened to me when i had my XE Corsa insured through Flux, sold it and got a 1.3 fiesta runner, payments went up as it was a policy for a modified car, which the fiesta wasn't.

Yours still logged as a 1.2 i take it??

Well when I took mine off road it was a 1.2. Switched it onto my bros which was a 1.2 then back onto mine which is now 2.0 and then had to go onto a modified policy.

Didn't go up that much but I paid alot less on the 1.2.

My car atm is still a 1.2 on logbook but waiting for it to be updated.

Going back the way though will be worse if its on the same policy.

You could end up paying a cancellation fee, but if that works out less than the current payments left on it, makes sense to cancel it if you arnt bothered about the no claims.
