Anyone on here done this? Looking to do it to the nova as my seats are mounted way to high.. What's the best way to go about it? Cheers

First thing is can you get it MOT'd? As none moving seats is a fail i think.

If so, i believe many people just weld square tubing to the floor then make brackets for seats to bolt on.

thats no good, you would need at least spreader plates under for them to pass mot

That's only if the sliders aren't operating correctly I think, if it doesn't have sliders they can't be tested.

Not sure what the Nova floor pan is like but I'll try and find the pics of my seat mounts to give you an idea.

Don't really have any decent pics but this one gives you an idea.



Basically we cut the original hooks out and made plates with captive nuts to replace them, for the back we welded a piece of angle with captive nuts running between the sill and transmission tunnel.

It may have worked out easier cutting out the old mounts completely and just going for 2 pieces of angle but the original mounts where perfect height so we used them.

Nova floor pans are stupidly thin so I wouldn't bolt straight to that as your seat will probably rock around and distort the floor.

I bought a seat rail kit off ebay and had it welded in but you could easily knock something up from tube and plate and do it yourself from what I've seen on your thread.

you got that wrong. if it slid back ad foward from the factory its got to now,

sean i bolted these directly to the floor! i think they were serria cozzy seats, they had very slim subframes attched to the seat, i didtched the main subfarme and welded/bolted them in, still slid back and fowards

Where did you read/hear this? One of the guys at work has just gone on an mot refresher course and they covered this, if there is no mechanism there it can't fail... And cheers for the pics John
