Was going to go out and tax my car tomorrow but my insurance haven't sent me out my policy yet but the car is insured. I've never actually taxed a car before strangely, my mate said I can only tax it if I have my insurance policy with me though, is this true?

Surely they can just look up on the database for proof?

If at post office you'll need documents.

Get them to email you a certificate, and print it off.

Is the tax for the 306 you have just got?? Doing it online might be an issue as it may not be in your name yet.

Yea its for the 306, don't want to do it online incase the tax disc goes to the previous owner.

I'll be taxing it at the main DVA office as the post office won't tax it with just the new keeper slip they said.

Last time I did it at the Post Office I only had the reminder.

Do the Post Office not check like you do when you renew online know?
