HTML, CSS and any other language?

You can relate most aspects of any programming or mark up language anyway.

Yes, the job i applied for did have a job description but it was very vague in the fact of what you should know and be able to do.

Can't hurt. In fact in most modern web apps you can't really get away without a bit of asynch.

It all depends on what they need..and a vauge job description probably means its not for a specific role/language. There will still be stuff you don't know so even if you did know ajax, jquery do you know Perl or Python? You might find you need these...etc.

I would say a key thing is general knowledge of web development and how server-side, browser-side stuff works at a high level etc.

Do you have any sites you have developed etc that you can show off, screen prints you can talk over maybe?

That's terrible for a web developer but if it's a good opportunity then it's worth taking the hit.

How old are you? 15k isnt much these days, but you can't grumble with no real experience, no doubt you'll learn a bunch on the job which means you'll be in a better position in the future.

Congrats btw.

£15k isn't bad for a junior role if there's a good route to a higher wage and/or a decent bonus system in place.

£15k is a good starting rate, espically if your near the bottom of the ladder and looking to work your way up.

15k is good for a grad/someone with no experience, but if you are new to the industry money isnt really important imo.

Well 15K to me starting is perfectly fine,

As stated i have no experience in the industry and have no relevant qualifications to the industry apart from a college a level award.

The company is a big company down in south east kent, and the best part is they make web sites for Automotive companies.

Also get benefits and free tickets to car events etc.

But as far as i can see there is room to progress through out the company and its expanding fast.

But yea im happy i've got my foot in the door, that's all i care about really.

If you generally have a interest in web technologies, coding and design I'm sure you will do fine. If you are just doing it for the money then it may not be for you. Either way good luck with your new job
