I was thinking this when I was watching Smooth Criminal on youtube which only had a few millions views!

As sc0tt said, I think most of the hits are because of the viral effect that you get when new videos come out. I'm sure the 'greats' would have faaaarrr much hits if the t'internet was around in their era
