The Mrs and I are getting married in October and want to go on honeymoon soon after. Most places that time of year are wet or cold and wet or something like that... We're both keen on Cape Verdi as it looks very nice and we'll be away from families with children etc.
But, do we settle and go there as honeymoon straight away or go there and then somewhere else next spring or summer... Really hard to find a lush place to get away to in October, must have pools and beach view etc and basically be the dogs bollocks but not premium " small house deposit" money...
Any suggestions?

Cape Verde islands are apparently really nice, but really windy.

We are going on honeymoon in September, 11 nights in Borneo on the beach then 3 nights in Singapore, including the Grand Prix.

Las Vegas seems pretty obvious.
We did one week in Vegas then two week California road trip in October 2011. Can't recommend it enough.

San Francisco - LA - Vegas is an idea
Looked at Thailand and Fiji too.
Tell me more about Mexico? Is it nice for couples or is it just hot and sticky all the time. Egypt is a place we can guaranty the weather but we went back in October just gone.
Thanks for the ideas so far guys

P.S. honeymoon more than 1 week after the wedding is just a holiday.

Well I know most people are living together before they get married, possibly had kids etc so most traditions are out of the window, but I also see it as the honeymoon starting your married life together.
What's the point of getting married on a Friday and back to normality come the Monday, to only having an expensive 'honeymoon' in the summer.
Plenty of places warm enough in the winter.
Like the whole souther hemisphere.

I would assume the time between the marriage and the honeymoon in no way affects the point of the honeymoon!?

It does for me in the sense the marriage has started already, whereas immediately after the wedding it is just the beginning.
Meh, I'm just being a cantankerous old bastard.
