may sound silly but i'm not a mechanic, nor have i ever changed or removed the brake discs before.
i've had a sheared off wheel bolt stuck in the hub for a while now, and i need to remove it before the MOT this week.
the bolt has sheared off flush, so someone recommended removing the disc to see if theres anything sticking out so i can get a grip on it and remove it easily.
to do this, they said i would need to remove the disc. how do i go about this?
it's for a z4 but i imagine most, if not all rear disc brakes are similar in how they are attached.
otherwise i need to pay someone to shaft me for removing them

Should be 2 bolts holding the caliper on remove then then a torx bolt holding the disk to the hub

cheers ben. seems an easy enough job.
i've found a guide which someone linked to on a z4 forum, although it's for an e46 m3.
i imagine the basic layout will be the same though?

I'd imagine being a BMW it will have handbrake shoes in the discs so it might not be as straight forward, might have to back the shoes off a bit inside first. Check Graham's m3 thread. Assuming its a similar setup.

Have you tried just nudging the broken stud round with a screw driver or something, it shouldn't be that tight really.
