As we've been having a few nerdy drone/FPV related threads on here recently I thought I'd share my new fixed-wing build

The airframe its self is called a Skywalker X-5 (its just under 1.2m accross so pretty small), its alot smaller than my old setup which had a wing-span of nearly 1.5m and was a bit of a pig to transport.

I've tried to keep it as durable (crash resistant ) as possible by laminating virtually the whole thing in fibre glass tape and reinforcing it with carbon fibre spars.

Onboard is a GPS, Barometer and compass based autopilot and flight stabilisation system with all flight data overlayed on a live video feed.

Remote control is via a long range UHF system which is good for 25km with standard antennas.

I've also ditched the GoPro in favour of a HorizonHD camera which gives HD on-board recording and a 700TVL live output for first person fliht.

I can fly it via the UHF system or program way-points with the onboard 868mhz data-modem via the ground station software.
