Use some countersunk bolts then just fill over them and leave them in.

that's fair enough; was only thinking of limiting the amount of subsequent work of having to fill holes etc. but ensuring the fit is the primary concern so whatever achieves that makes sense

I could glue some nuts under the hardtop and use some countersunk bolts from the inside as im covering in fabric.

But its probably overkill and there probably wouldnt be any point anyway.

So lee, using this stuff (where do i get it from btw) is there a best way to lay it out or would it be best to just zig Zag side to side then repeat the other way creating a criscross effect if you will then slap them together?

yep, it comes in a cartridge (or in our case drum form) which you use a normal silicone gun for. Its normally two part but mixes in the nozzle.

We tend to run it around the perimter, set in 25mm or so and then zig zags in between. It sets and bonds like concrete so you've no chance of prying the two apart once its set.

We always put little spacers (5mm) in to stop it collapsing the two halves of the product but it'll also gap fill upto 25mm, so if you have an area which you know will have things bolted through it, you can cag that area up so thats its a solid mounting block.

I'll have a look as to where you can get it from but I would guess online is your best bet

Instead on bonding the nut on Chris use a sleeve nut on the inside like this...

They arnt too harsh on the eye either. You may even be able to find some countersunk.

not sure but they're bigger than they look in photos.

Might be worth discussing with either EasyComposites or EC FG Supplies and tell them what you're doing so that you buy the correct amount
