I had a small shoot with a few Audi A8Ls and this £30,000,000 private jet today.
Here's a just a quick shot until I process the rest...

There were 4 A8s there with the A** VCD plates on and I think there are another couple in the fleet.

The cone is gone. I must have had it on a layer set to 50% opacity on this one and just never noticed it.
Nope. No HDR here.

I was worried that one would appear a little dark.
It looks fine on one of my screens, but a little a dark on the other.

Neither of these are doing anything for me sorry mate.
1. The sky looks far too overdone in both. The one with 4 cars and the plane - you can tell instantly that the blue sky has been grayed out in the center but it has been left around the edges. I would personally leave it blue as the gray/moody sky just doesnt suit the sunlit plane/cars. I would also recommend removing the storm drain and surrounding dark tarmac from the front of the picture, that was the first thing my eye got drawn to. If you have CS6 the content aware fill tool should blizt that out for you in seconds.
2. Again the sky is far far too dark along with the shillouted hills on the right hand side. If the car is meant to be the centre of focus then I would have fired some strobes off at the wheels expose them a bit better.

I don't know how you can tell instantly that the blue sky has been grayed out in the center but it has been left around the edges, because other than increasing clarity and adding a gradient filter when processing the RAW file, not much has been done to the sky.
The 2nd sky has been edited quite a lot and I did think it was a little too dark and moody although it doesn't look underexposed on my screen at all. The car looks well exposed, it's just the sky which is really dark.
Maybe it's about time I got my monitor calibrated.

That will be down to the gradient filter then. I'm assuming its a photoshopped in gradient? It looks like the blue saturation has been sapped out from the sky.
I know what you mean about monitor calibration, I made a HDR image last night, I was pretty pleased with the outcome on my laptop screen then when I viewed it in work today it looked too dark/contrasty and wasnt that impressed with it
I'm about to buy a new laptop with a nice screen for photography work and there is also a very fancy monitor colour calibration device in my office which I may have to borrow if the boss doesn't mind
