Hi guys

I have had some troubles with an SD while travelling, it's states on the camera that the card needs formatting although there are about 100 pics which I now cannot view

When I put the SD card into the PC it recognises it but states it needs formatting

Question is if I do this I am likely to lose the pics or can they be recovered

oh man :/ i went to paris few months ago and this happened to me, lost all my pics, there was only a few i could view, your best to either get another card and format or format that one.
You wont get your pics back

i was gutted, i tried so many different softwares, even paying ones where they do the fix and show you and you pay for the pics, just nothing, just came back unable to recover

its worth a go with a software, but i doubt youl have any luck.

Thought this. It's my backup camera x10 so still have pics on my main camera but even so it's was pics of a great place which will be sadly missed but will give it a go when I get back to the UK

Doesn't work on the camera either then? Have you tried connecting the camera with the cable instead of taking the card out? Doubt it'll be any different, but worth at least trying.

I've successfully recovered files from SD cards in the past where this error has cropped up. Can't remember what I used though. It was on the Mac anyway so probably not any use to you if you're on a PC.

got them - very lucky and used a free program - 2 samples below

Will create a thread once I have got all pics off my main camera
