will it fuck be back on the road, i read that aswell and thought "what a load of bollocks"

fire damage of that scale will affect the properties of the steel structure and make it weakened in my view, that should be a cat a- used for parts only, rest of it is literally toast

i thought cat a was complete destruction?

bloke in work said the heat from the fire would warp the chassis anyway.

ahh yeah my mistake, probs cat b then- parts only

exactly my thoughts ben, chassis will be ruined, i wouldnt get in it if it was put back together

Fire is normally A because even the good parts are considered unsuitable for re-use.

Also depends whether there's a claim, nothing to stop it being repaired if the insurer is not notified, no idea how rich the owner is.

If its an SV, which it says it is, it's about £1m to buy one so I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone tried to repair it.

the aluminium rear end would need to be new and any of the steel parts that have been afected by the fire will need to be changed, it isnt completly burnt out though so yes repairable, just needs a jig to make sure its straight.
The only problem being the availability of parts and cost, new engine etc

It'd be a very fine line financially as it'll be worth a fair bit less as a rebuilt car than as an original.

Would be a shame to see it lost.

I can see it being rebuilt, but it'll be a bit Triggers broom and very little of the original will remain.

F*cking SV too (well badged as one anyway).

So not good.

Can't really see much of that coming back. Especially as it got the jaws of life on it too

Wouldn't be driving around sans fire extinguisher if I was blessed with one of those.
