They certainly don't make them like that anymore.

This man Owned & Drove the same car for 82 YEARS.

Can you imagine even having the same car for 82 years!

"How Long Have You Owned a Car?"

Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Piccadilly-P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928.

He drove it up until his death last year......at the age of 102 !!!

He was the oldest living owner of a car that was purchased new.

Just thought you'd like to see it.

It was donated to a Springfield museum after his death..

It has 1,070,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years). That's approximately 13,048 miles per year (1087 per month)...

Thats class. Good to read stuff like that. Some size of a thing!

Must have been from a well minted family, bloody Rolls Royce as a graduation present! lol. Seems he definitly appreciated it anyway. Hopefully it stays in the family.

Yeah I thought cars were meant to be smaller back in the days!

It's cool to think that it's in a museum now, as no one else will ever drive it... proper one owner there.

I've read that story elsewhere....without the brutal hyperbole.

Story I read said it had done 170k and had an engine rebuild and complete body restoration.

The story does seem to vary a little: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/12/27/man-drives-rolls-royce-for-78-years-then-makes-museum-donation-t/
