It was fantastic. Loved seeing Tony forced to his knees as no antagonist until now has managed to really put up a fight.

I thought the end credit bit was fun. Didn't mind sticking around for it.

Not seen it yet but seen the full trailer, army of them at the end of the trailer is pretty cool. In in all I've been pretty disappointed in the first two. Also I haven't seen the first one in one sitting, I must sort that.

I don't think they should do a fourth, you can't keep up the quality imo and it was a decent set of films.

Would be happy to have RDJ back for the next two Avengers films

Avengers 2 probably, IM was always going to be a trilogy.

Well apparantly RDJ contract was for 3 films but its open for the avengers and possibly a 4th! Gwyneth Paltrow has said there's no 4th and iron patriot might be in avengers instead of iron man but we will see I hope there's another but it did end quite weird with the 'clean sweep' he ordered then his surgery so Im unsure

As it's planned out, Iron Man 3 is the first of the Phase Two Avengers films.

Phase One:
IM 1 & 2
Incredible Hulk
Thor
CA
The Avengers

Phase Two:
IM3
Thor 2
CA 2
Perhaps Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers 2
(and likely to some extend the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show)

A third phase isn't official yet, but as the films are pretty much definite blockbusters there's guaranteed to be either a third phase or a reboot at the end of Phase Two.

There's been talk of another standalone Hulk film too, but as the first two didn't make enough money, Disney seem to be a bit hesitant about that.

Guardians of the Galaxy is coming in 2014 before Avengers 2 and there are loads of rumors as to whether this will tie in with the rest of the franchise. Some rumors point to Iron Man and/or Thanos appearing in GOTG to bridge the gap to earth and The Avengers.

So to answer the question, Tony will be back in the suit in Avengers 2 and possibly play a smaller part/cameo in GOTG.
