I want chickens and quail when I get a house at the end of the year. But I'll end up killing them all through starvation

My next door nabours have 6 chickens and 4 ducks. Boss things they are. 2 of the chickens must be mentally retarded with some of the things they do. Not that noisy though. Ducks are!!!

Next door to mum and dads they have 3, they have a bit of a problem as they had 2 originally but their dog ate one, they bought a replacement as they have to be in pairs, then he ate those 2 as well
They bought another 4 and he's recently eaten another one they really should do a better job keeping an eye on their dog haha

Used to have 4, they were fine really, fed them on scraps and grit. Layed nice eggs, dunno why we ended up getting rid, i think they were noisy.

When you say not a huge amount of looking after is it a few times daily, once a day, few times a week?

I can get away with going to my allotment twice a week, Mine is a larger scale than a garden set up would be though, so they don't make as much mess, as long as they have food and water they are happy as larry
