Presume a few on here may have done it before.

I dislocated mine on Sunday playing football. Pain was immense but all back in socket now. Had to knock me out the way it was out they were fucking about for around 15 mins to get it back in.

I've got a appointment with the fracture clinic on Wednesday as they thought it was fractured but couldn't really see to well from the X-rays. I've now got pins and needles from the elbow forward on the bottom half of my arm and hand. Did anyone have this and also how long did it take to fix?

Bit concerned as its my right arm and I'm right handed So my job I dont know how I'm gona cope.

I fell getting out the bath and dislocated my shoulder and popped it back in when i landed (true story). Really hurt for 3 weeks and had pins and needles for about 2 months on and off.

Done my left one a few times over the years. Pins and needles is normal dont worry. Can take weeks for the pain to go away properly sometimes. Mine will go back in just by lying on the floor and letting gravity do the rest.

There are some nerves which pass through your shoulder and down to your hand, if you pinch them then you get pins and needles or numbness. I've separated my shoulder and sometimes half my hand goes numb because of pressure on these nerves.

Went to doctors yesterday and he thinks I have stretched some nerves.

Got fracture clinic this morning so will see what they say. Possibly having a MRI on it as they weren't 100% sure its in the right place.

Looks like a operation may be on the cards.

Says its very unstable and if I want up carry on enduro riding it won't be stable enough.

Arm in sling for 6 weeks. And then back to dr in 6 weeks. Doing Physio uptill then.

Dad dislocated his when he was younger,
After that was forever semi popping out, hurt in cold weather etc,
Muscles stretch or something and never really heal letting it happen again, he cracked the socket also and is currently waiting trying 6 months of physio see of it helps of not joint replacement op! He's early 40's.

I also never fully trust it either

From what ive heard it never really fully gets back to normal due to the stretch of ligaments, plus I tore the rotator cuff too which im guessing wouldnt have helped

This thread contains as much promise and optimism as the bad back thread.

I certainly feel for you boys.

Good grief, the human body is f*cking useless.

He he said if u dislocate it when u are under 30 there is a 90-100% chance of re dislocation in the future. Great odds.

I wouldnt say Ive re dislocated again apart from the week later, in 5 years, but its certainly been close to it and still very painfull and was for about a week afterwards compared to the few months after the first time
