Shows what a cottage industry Ferrari are, when you look at details like the front wishbones and the 'two bob' nature of their design, fabrication, fit & finish. Even on a racing car.

Funny how the Race orientated additions detract from the prettiness of the original car too.

Just shows how perfect a visual package it was from the get go.

Always thought it was odd that there ended up an F40 LM, when the astonishing 288 GTO Evoluzione Homologato would have seemed a more appropriate vehicle to put into series production for racing, rather than let it be still born.

I like how Ferrari want $15k for a main shaft, 1st gear & the reverse idler

On the plus side, it's good to see that they are addressing the fuel tank issue.

I always thought it was utterly absurd that the tanks on these vehicles had to be replaced as though they were a service item. And that they had a maximum life expectancy of ten years. And that to change them involved a massive strip down.

I'm not going to go through the heartbreak after you said that.

Remember once reading a kit-car build over about four nights - 300 odd pages of a Blog.

It wasn't even finished when I got to the end

Some of it worth reading, a lot of it is 'we're waiting for this massively expensive part to arrive, which it hasn't'.

Was the original car primed and painted with several layers of paint? I seem to remember part of the allure being one thin coat which still showed the weave of the carbon through the paint.

said it had filler on it and looking in at the "rings of paint" looks to have had some spray work in the past
