Why have you bought a runaround when you have a Fabia?
Thought she had a Tigra?

Because putting 30k miles a year on the Fabia is not ideal, plus I do not want the mrs driving it.
No, I had the Tigra to make money on

Well I bought the car with 107,000 miles on and that was already high for the age, I don;t want it to have 170,000 by next year. Plus running costs are much higher in respect of tyres/ servicing.
For instance, one brake disc is £30, one for the 106 is £9.

So you do, what, around 120 miles a day on average?
Seems strange to drive that many miles in a shitter and then having a better car sat unused at home.
Why not get something decent that you can afford to actually drive?
Fair enough if this setup works for you btw, I'm just curious why you don't choose some sort of middle ground.

I go to uni in Bristol one day a week, which is 400 miles.
But then I do a lot of travelling around when in Cornwall, mainly down country lanes looking for football grounds. I also then carry 20 stinking footballs in the car with smelly kit also. Then I also carry tools at times to go and help people fix cars.
Also want to teach the mrs to drive, don't want her smashing the Fabia up.
I can easily afford to run the Fabia, just makes sense to save money this way, stop my nice car smelling of football and always having to take the stuff out and can finally teach her.

I'd have a 1.4/1.5D 106 as a runabout tbf, they do 55/60MPG all day long

Yeah my Corsa did. I spent more on tyres for the Fabia in the last year than I did maintaining my Corsa 1.5 for 4 years

Is it? I always forget about the early shape. I think the later one even has a different interior, so I thought it was a newer model.
Ask me about Corsas instead, then I might know
