Fuse 17 should be 10 amps, is yours 10A?

Do you know which pin is which on the plug?
I'd be testing them direct to the battery, via a suitable fuse, see if they work on their own not as part of the current loom.
10A also sounds a bit low for a heating element. What is the fuse rating in the Calibra? They're going to want more than 120w I'm sure.

The plug below the seats has 2 wires going in of that helps.
Tried stronger fuses is number 17 but still blows! Has done this before I fitted seats but though maybe the seats weren't working because this fuse was broke

I don't think you should use a stronger fuse in slot 17 because the other items that use that require a 10amp fuse.
Using a higher fuse means them devices will get a dangerous amount of current, possible blowing the things or causing fire (unlikely but could happen).
You should find out what fuse the seats use in the calibra and connect the seats to a fuse of the same amps or run them on their own wiring with a built-in fuse in the wiring, connecting straight to the battery.

Should the heated seats in a B actually be wired into fuse 17 anyway?

you would have to check whether you have got the right fuse because it might be that you have a higher power fuse in the fuse box which can cause a problem
