i am sure i asked on here before about tyres, but cant find the thread.

im running on 165/70/13 can i see any difference with 175/70/13 tyres, will i need bigger wheels for fuel economy.

They are 70% of 10mm larger so 7mm.

That does effectively lengthen your gearing but I wouldn't think you'll notice it.

Additional distance travelled from the larger circumference is probably offset by the frictional loss of the cross section.

14mm bigger.

Go for a 165/80 13, 594mm over 560mm of the 165/70.

That'll mean 862 revolutions per mile as opposed to 913, 6% less revolutions.

What car do you have if you are contemplating changing 13" tyre sizes for fuel economy?
