Just seen a bit of this tv show on TLC and I honestly couldn't believe it.

Some woman bought goods worth over $800 for $25.

Granted, she had to buy shit that would need storing for about 25 years, such as 300 packets of tic tacs and 150 medicines, but I was still impressed.

Does anything like that happen in the UK, or does anyone go shopping with coupons?

May seem a bit pikey, but i'd love to walk out a shop with that amount of stuff for such little cost.

Read a story a bit back about a student who bought a shit load of food just with vouchers. Donated it all to food banks i think.

It is just buying stuff for the sake of it, they will never use. But the show you mention is all about that. It is not saving, it is just buying something cheap because its is cheap! Just means they are not spending $$$$ for what they really need. Yes you can use coupons in UK and save.
