I have a single switch aswell as a double switch in my living room.
Single switch controls living room light.
Double switch controls living room light and landing light.
Single switch works fine.
When I use the double switch to turn the living room light on, it starts flickering then doesn't come on at all.
Loose wire? Or something more serious/expensive?
My electrical knowledge extends to fitting a light and that's it, so pretty much non existant.

Actually just double checked and the single switch will only turn the light on if the double switch for the living room light is down (on, of course).
If the switch is up, the single switch won't work at all.

My first thought would be the same as Gary. Possibly a jumper wire in the double one that's come loose over time.
