Looking for a hotel for the night for 12 people as cheap as possible near the city centre. Anyone any ideas? Did have jurysinn for £99 for a room that holds 3 but there now saying the price has went up to £149 a room.

Stayed here a couple of times on stag do's. Nothing fancy but it's not expensive.

^ Stopped there on a stag do too. All you want really, in the centre, you can park underneath for a fiver and it has a bar.

I've stayed in premier inn and Travelodge on quay side. Both usual quality and parking can be iffy unless you book it well in advance. Premier inn is better bet of the two. Gives you the option of quay side or a 5 min walk to town.
Stayed in The Jurys Inn too. Best hotel of the three, was a bit different in the sense it was like an 18-30 hotel when we were there. Also a multistory car park opposite it. 5 min walk to town but quay side is another 5 mins should you want to venture down there.

Ramada Encore beside Jury's Inn on the Gateshead side is good. Walk over the Millennium Bridge and you're right on the Quayside.
