Looking at buying a second hand trailer this weekend but I obviously want to make sure I don't buy a stolen one is there any checks (like txt checks you can do with cars) on the vin numbers to make sure it's not a stolen one , or anything else i can do to make sure

There is something but I can't find it. I know Ifor Williams trailers are all registered from new although there's no guarantees that previous owners have updated the registration so it's difficult to know for definite.
If it's branded then it's probably just a case of contacting the manufacturer and see if they hold any information.

Would be far easier if the police did this.
Quick phonecall tot hem, and 30 seconds later you know if it's been stolen.

Found the one I was thinking of, although I think it still depends on the manufacturer or a previous owner registering it.
