Look out for bomb chuckers and Muslims with oversize vests.

Just had most of the day out in Istanbul and presently surprised
Apart from every few hours some geezer gets on the massive speakers on the mosques and starts shouting for 20mins across the City
On a serious note though the mosques are very impressive espcially Sophia

some pictures. I will keep updating them. considering I did not have an SLR some have come out quite well
So having completed some major project for Hilton Hotels, some of us were invited to the Hilton Engineers Conference which wa held at one of their latest hotels to be finished - Bomonti Istanbul. Fabulous hotel
I ended up with some free time so explored the city, walked over 8 miles throughout the one day

Sophia Museum - used to be a Mosque. Truly breathtaking inside - much better than the blue mosque. Renovation works are being completed so initially I was a little disappointed but the scaffolding actually works better to try and show the sheer size of the place

On the way to the Grand Bazaar market - in which I got lost completely

And the best find of the day - Basilica Cistern. The enlarged cistern provided a water filtration system for the Great Palace of Constantinople and other buildings on the First Hill, and continued to provide water to the Topkapi Palace after the Ottoman conquest in 1453 and into modern times

I will upload more later as I visited a few other places including the palace etc
