I don't suppose the instructor actually helped much, violenty turning the wheel. Still a dick though.

I think there's probably more to do with competence (or a lack thereof) and control familiarity than age there.

Are you implying that it could have been a pedal other than the one in the middle?

I'm implying that he was either incompetent or merely completely unfamiliar with the pedal spacing Davey

Intriguing that he couldn't tell the difference though. Would be helpful to know which foot he was pummelling the clutch pedal with.
