Everyone i've ever spoken to say they remember where and what they were doing when 9/11 happened. It's such a big incident that of course it will stay with you forever.
Same with 7/7. I was at my parents' house at that time and there were armed police guarding the train station.

The black boxes didnt get recovered.. but they can withstand the temperature that they in theory would have received

Zeitgeist is worth a watch , massive bit about 9/11 on it and it really does raise alot of issues about it, explosions in the base of the buildings before the planes hit, the fact they had done simulators on a passenger jet attack and failed it so miserably, the meetings with bush and iraqi officials and money transfers before the event, hidden footage and evidence which has been refused to be released.
not saying it is a conspiracy but I personally do have an open mind on it,
