Hopefully picking this up tomorrow. Nice car. It's the 170 Diesel manual. Comes with a few optional extras too - Leather, Xenons, Auto lights/wipers, winter pack etc

I'll post a few pictures when I get it but I'm looking forward to it. Will be sad to let my Golf go already.

Best bit... Being an 11 Reg I can put my personal plate on!

Dad warning - I wanted the extra doors for my 6 year old to get in and out and the big boot for camping trips

Plus I have always liked them - I'm pretty sure its a mk5 golf underneath anyway.

Yeah it's affected - The one i'm selling was a "pre scandal" car

I'll try to dodge getting the recall work done for as long as possible I think. Will probably come back slower than a milkfloat

I liked my Mk2 vRS TDi, when it worked.

Would consider getting another, as they are good value and hugely practical etc, but would probably go for the TFSi model now personally.

I've been looking at these over the past couple of days. I'm looking for something to pull a Puma to track days, decent on fuel and has a decent boot for put the buggy in. These fit the bill.

I will be interested to see how you get on with yours

The mrs will go mental if i go out and get one at the minute

Thought it would have been, my mate has a 12 plate Leon FR 170 TDi. His is affected too, he wants to sell it cause of it

Another mate has a black Octavia with all black bits on too. It's pretty nice.

Why would it be slower? Fairly certain they just remove the software that fools the emissions test. Going to make zero difference for the owners.

Just an increase in tax, reduction in power and driveability.

This was the letter a friend received from Audi about his £35k A5, I'd be well pissed if that was me,

That's what they say, if it was that simple then why didn't they do it from factory, must of been a reason to fit the device in the first place.

I don't see how they can easily overcome this problem now, has some new technology come along.

The cars will be slower.

It's inevitable that the tax will rise. It's pretty clear that diesels are going to get whacked in general over the next few years tax/law wise anyway.

Picked it up earlier. Lovely car although the guy didn't bother cleaning it for me (who does that!). Feels weird after driving a hatch seeing this far away spoiler through a massive back window

I also got a puncture late on in the day. You couldn't make it up could you! Luckily only a £15 repair.

I also think tax on the diesel engine will rise fairly soon. Making the most of it at the moment on the Astra and Focus
