Only got chance to update my pics recently so thought I would post a few. Having been a few times we had done most of the main attractions but hadn't been to 9/11 memorial as its wasn't ready last time, the freedom tower was not complete etc so spent a day down there.
Hope you enjoy the pics
The Pools and museum - such a well judged way of remembering the dead and that tragic event. Very nicely done

Museum - such a fantastic place set under ground in part of the foundations. Hard to get good pics as the lighting was very low in places

The 9/11 memorial was strange.
The place had such a "eerie vibe" about it all, fascinating stuff inside. I can't explain it, you just felt something huge had happened on the ground you walked over.
That would have sounded stupid to me before I went. A year ago today, I was just arriving in New York. Best place I've ever been to

I went there with a very low expectation given all the hype but came away loving the place. Know what you mean about the atmosphere. I felt that about the whole town. We stayed in Newport so used the PATH to get to Manhattan and that first time walking up out of the subway, remarkable.

Mean fiddler bar just off Times Sq.
Beer pong table set up; playing random people all night. Must have been there about 9 hours in total. Never been so drunk; or had so much fun in a bar before. Met so many great people that night too.
Facebook memories keeps reminding me what inward doing last year

This is why places like America and Australia dont appeal.
No real history, that's not a proper cathedral, it was built late 1800's in a gothic style.

Went up the Freedom Tower yesterday and was blessed with wall to wall blue skies and sunshine, absolutely awe-inspiring tower and so glad I went up to the observation deck. Was no queues either and was barely anyone up top either so that was good.
Shame to see Toys R Us in Times Squre and Shwarz toy store both shutting down
