Hey guys!
What bigger brake discs can be fitted on an Opel Corsa B GSi? I've heard guys fit Cav V6 front discs and calipers, but here in South Africa, there ain't any Cavs! Thought of fitting the new Astra brake discs which are 256mm compared to the smaller 236mm on my Corsa.
Also thinking of changing the rear drums for discs! What mods must be done to allow this? Must I get a completely different rear axle?

Corsa B GSi in the UK were fitted with 256x20 size front discs. Astra GTE discs are 256x24 and are much better at removing heat, therefore perform much better than standard GSi discs. Iknow that the GSi's in SA were 8v so may have been fitted with the X14XE brakes hich were 236mm.

So should upgrading to the Astra GSi front discs be a problem? Will they just bolt on? Will it be enough stopping power once my car gets turbocharged? That's on the 'to do' list as well! How can I replace the rear drums with disc brakes?

Tony, are you talking about the discs off the latest Astra? Im not sure if these are a straight swap. I know that the Astra MK2 GTE discs went on without hassle.

Personally id go for v6 discs and calipers.
Even the plain discs will be better than standard size uprated pads and discs.
V-tunning are cheapest but the PVD/Black Diamond discs look better in my opinion, well worth the extra cash, also in stock at the moment so you could have a set within 24hrs if you wanted!
And they dont half stop ya!
The windscreen is now my best friend, and my seatbelt keeps hugging me, just wouried that my pre-tensioners/airbag might go off cos the force is that much!

Go for Astra GSi brakes without a doubt i would never touch V6 brakes as the corsa master cylinder is too small to cope with it and as a result the brakes r spongy and under perform. search for old threads on it and u will see. Bigger brakes dont neccerily mean better stoppin power
