Im with co-op ins (CIS) and just moved onto my own policy, previously i was a named driver on my mums policy.
its 1200 per year, im 19, 0 NCB, with pass plus. Fully comp in my name, i reckon thats pretty good.

make sure that the insurance companies know of every mod you have, my boyfriend got a renewel from priviledge and he found out that for the past 4 years they insured car as standard 1400 corsa sport with a few mods and not a 2.0 16v they wanted 1100 quid and hes 36 years old with full noclaims when he made a non fault claim they sent out a bloke to survey the damage and he never said anything about engine, so now it costs 850 quid. so check all policies.

Mate, u should have stayed under ur mums insurance!! I'm in the same position, with CIS under my dad's name. Anyway, when i'm 22 (5 years no claims), my dad can pass all his NCB onto me!! Its not worth goin onto ur own yet!!

phone up CIS and ask for urself. However, CIS is wierd like that...................just a few examples of this:
*They fully paid up for an accident i had, even tho no liability was admitted either way, and I ONLY HAVE TPFT.
*After 5 years, i can recieve my DAD's NCB.
*ANY body modifications allowed
*Its only £120 more a year to upgrade to Fully Comp once i get my new car
*I got 25% discount because my grand mother had a policy with them, where she paid like £31 a year for 3 years. This saved me £300 a year
*Every customer has a personal representative who comes round to their house to go over insurance details etc....
Its MENTAL!!! but not bad at all!!

nice one john, id avoid elephant big time, they screw you over with mods. SO anyone reading this with planned mods, dont go with elephant unless you have a very very full wallet.

.....nah didnt mean it like that mate, basically this guy went straighht into the side of me, while i was goin round a roundabout. T boned my rear 1/4, out and out his fault, but coz his insurance (like most) are disputing it, liability has not been admitted anywhere. However, a cock up was made at the CIS offices, and i think they thought i was Fully comp or summat, and so got my car repaired.
To b honest, it would have got repaired by the other insurance ppl anyway coz there is no way it cuda been my fault, but i was glad it got sorted so quick, even tho i am TPFT.
