had to fill it up does this mean i got a leak somewhere? if so where do i look

No, may just mean your pads are low or discs are getting low. Check them, if not top it up again and wait.
Brake lines are simple to follow. Look for the gree copper pipe running along the back of the engine bay. Runs down into both front wings, and along the bottom of the car to the back wheels.

if you do have a leak it will most likely be rear wheel cyliners inside the rear drums!

Sometimes the breather hole on the top of the reseivour(sp) leaks.

my pads are low will sort it when i get back from tenerife
