With a 1.2 8v at the lights, just about beat him but I could see he was trying! booted it in first got to 12mph and he was just edging it, got to 27 in 2nd gear and i got ahead slightly. Changed into 3rd at 39 and he was half a car length back. My heart was racing, was a really good race and he gave me the thumbs up after! really surprised I did well what are the stats for em??

hmmm i raced a saxo today to work. lets see
1st gear 58mph
2nd 75mph
3rd beter slow down to let him catch up!
i raced a 1.0 micra on my corsa.... that was alaf even with me 3 mates in the back i managed to get about a cars lenght ahead.
id like to race it again, id stuff him int othe ground!

us 1.2 8v's can beat anything if we try hard lol.
im fed up racing now. all my car does is make more noise not go faster.
my m8 says i sound like im gonna be coming into his street doing 100 but i just dribble round the corner. i h8 this slow piece of shit.

err those speeds are physically impossible with the gearbox in ur cally m8! (im working out the exact speeds possible now)

the max speeds possible in that gearbox at the rev limiter are
1st 37
2nd 59
3rd 82
4th 108
5th 137
even thou i seem to get 40 out of 1st in mine? (suppose its close enough!) rest seem fairly accurate thou

Depends on wheel size. On 17"s, 61mph can be obtained. Post on mig about it a few months back.
On my 16"s, it does summit like 59.4mph in 2nd, doh doh doh.

those calculation were done on 17's 205/40/17 tyres

i was taking the piss, however i did stuff the saxo like it was standing still so there.
the micra was hard to race in a 1.0 12v full of lardy buggers!
