how much would it cost to convert a 1.2 8v into a 2.0 16v

ive been quoted around £1500 including labour and all the parts

engine mounts
drive shafts
rear disk conversion
front v6 brakes
suspension
mpi fuel pump

what do you do about the radiator and the speedo do these have to be changed ?

and how much would it cost me to insure, through me uncle at 32 with 6yr no claims ? whos the best insurance company to do this

who quoted you for that? try liverpool victoria for your insurance.

i think LM would charge more for V6 brakes and rear disk conversion

yeah think so - i got my mounts from PVD, cost about 220 quid!
who's bought ur knackered engine now??

yeah, all depends on wot the damage is, but id keep the engine for spares if it aint too bad as u never know when u'll need spares especially if ur taking it on the track - wot sort of bhp u looking at with the new engine n mods

seems very cheap if all that is included

he actualy told me that he would do it for £1200 but i said £1500 cause you never no, somethink else will crop up as it always does.

yeh he's got a spare engine cause he's having a 2.0 16v turbo in his corsa,

i dont now wheather to get it done its a lot of money, specialy when ive got to spend £250 on body work (bit of rust coming through) insurance will be stupid as well
might just sell it and buy a new astra
