or drill a small hole into the top, then set drill into reverse and should come out.

how big is it. you could file the sides away and try get a smaller spanner to do the job

I got the same problem, its the lower alternator bolt on a 1.2 8v, also whats the eisiest way to get to it as its directly opposite to the suspension housing.

Bash a smaller socket on top. Always works for me.

think i may have to give that a go as my alternator is whining like a bitch! think the bearings are on the way out, sounds like i got a super charger under the bonnett.

Not recommened for the one on the fuel pump, lol, but if need be and if space permits you could weld a rod onto the top of the bolt and unscrew it using that.

wat about 1 of those spanners they advertise on telly that grips anything or 1 of the sockets than has all the pins inside does the same job as above.

if possible use a hacksaw and cut thru the nut, twice opposite each other, then whack it with a hammer

ive cut a ridge through the bolt head with a hacksaw before then removed with a flat head screw driver - best way to do it but depends on the size of the nut

You could tack weld another nut onto the old one, then undo that.

Be careful tho being the fuel pump.

Nut Splitter? - you can get them in Halfords etc if you aint got one.
