It appears that not only can I not flash my main beams, but they decide to occasionally turn themselves on when I indicate 
Any ideas on how much a new stalk will cost me?
I presume the Haynes manual (which is still on the "To-Buy" list) will tell me how to fit it right?

My indicator decides to stay indicating left if i've only touched the stalk to do a few flashes to the left, VERY dangerous if you were in lane 3 of the motorway going into lane 2 and staying there

Drives must think I'm a grade-a bastard for flashing them for no reason.
