Get a business plan together and go and see an accountant. They usually do first consultantations free of charge. They will explain everything you need to do to set yourself up as self employed and they usually have good contacts with Bank managers etc in the local area to point you in the right direction. They should also have information leaflets available about setting up your own business for you to read up on. Or you could pop down your local tax office where these leaflets come from. I wouldn't set up a bank account until you know what your doing.

Like people say. Set up a business plan. But before you do that you gotta do research. Find out if ur area needs what ur doing. Is there a market for it. Where do you plan to do this, do you have the money behind you. are you prepared to work silly hours for very little money in the first year or two.

God the list goes on but id find an accountant. Go and see an experienced business manager, visit ur local enterprise company. u may be entitled to grants etc.

austin how much do your charge for building someone a box? I only normally do call outs/repairs but first time someone is actually buying a whole computer off me from scratch.

hmmm doing just a box for someone, no mouse/monitor etc, I said about £400 and I'm aiming for 2400+ processor, 60-100gb hd, at least 256mb of ram, same geforce card as me (cant remember name) and leave the rest of the features for the mobo

can you recommend any mobos before i go hunting/researching? I was going to lean against Asus even though i'm a gigabyte man!
