head gaskets are about £8, then 200 to fit 1!

if you change it ureself it will be about 8 quid, depends if the head needs skimming in which case its gonna cost you a lot more.

Where exactly are you going to get a head gasket from for £8?
What about all the other gaskets?
Realistically headset is going to be £30 ish!
If its aluminium head it wants skimming if not you might as well use a cardboard headgasket as in the end it will blow again anyway.

when i did my head gasket back in march i got a top end gasket and seal set from vaux. think it was about £100. thats for an ecotec 16v engine btw.
