when looking at amps to run components, does the rms power of the amp have to match directly with the power of the comps? also say the comps are 90w rms then does that mean each channel of the amp has to be 90w rms ?

its best to get an amp with a slightly higher power rating than your speakers that you are driving into

They say atleast match your rms of the speakers or go slightly higher...not by loads though - ie: dont have 90wRMS speakers and wack a 200wRMS amp on them
So look for a 100wRMS amp or maybe 120wRMS (at the most!!)

Well im running 150RMS into a 60RMS component setup..
JL Audio all the way baby
Just so long as you dont go too crazy with power then you can get away with quite a bit. The only reason everyone says to either match or overpwoer stuff is that you dont want to be overloading the amp (stressing it) cos this aint healthy for amps (they dont like getting too hot)
Just go over by around 50RMS and that should be fine
