was bored so decided to do a low level format on a dead harddrive

did it succesfully

now on start up it see's it (slave drive) bios sees it - and device manager sees it

my computer folder dont see it, and neither does the 'admin tools' in control panel

how do i get the rest of the pc to see it so i can use it?

running windows 2000 pro

You need to do a normal format in DOS?

can it be seen in disk manager within computer management?

Yes, re-reading the original post, you need to create a partition and then format it, for you to see it in My Computer...

I don't know if it's the same in Windows 2000 as it is in Windows XP, but if you go Control Panel, Administrative Tools, then Computer Management, you should see it if you click on the Storage > Disk Management item from the list on the left hand pane, like this:

ahhhhhhhhhhh thats where it is, i was looking under 'storage' - yeha its there and it says 'unallocated'
