Right - When I get the mini it is coming with 17" alloys with 'run-flat' low profile tyres- due to there being no room for a spare wheel.

From all the mini forums the opinion seems to be to get rid of these tyres as quick as possible as they have a negative effect on ride quality and are a bastard for tramlining

Ive already decided to put some decent tyres on and was wondering if people have any recomendations

they will be for use on normal roads in all conditions, dont mind spendind a bit cos the official mini tyres are 250 squid each anyway so they would be well expensive to replace

Any-one got any recomendations- rough idea of price would be good as well

I always rated the Goodyear F1s on my other Astra. The convert has dunflops but the handling is pants anyway, it'd be unfair to compare.

Goodyear F1s are hard to beat in the wet and are pretty good in the dry. Some sticy Yokos will be even better in the dry but less than impressive in the wet. Why don't you post this question on the mini forum to see what the consensus is from those who've already changed their tyres?

Dr. Pepper - I have the run flats on my Mini and despite all that I have read I have not had a problem with them at all. The ride is quite hard but then thats mainly the suspension. Wait for the car to arrive and do a few miles on the original tyres before you decide.

Ye, Goodyear F1 GSD 3's, wet or dry are prob the best tyre out at the mo.
Yoko AVS and bridgestone potenza SO3's are also an excellent choice.
