Specialised-Shipping

They're importing my Lightning from the USA

Also try any of the Jap/American car mags, they always have adverts for shipping companies

Newera are one of the best for Jap cars, especially Supras, skylines and RX7's.

Shipping from Japan is in the region of £900-£1000
Potential savings are a lot, Skyline GTR's can be got for under £10k and they tend to be of a higher spec than over here.
You can do it yourself but you'll need to pay a couple of visits to Japan to do the buying/arranging shipping unless you put trust in someone you befriend over there. Then yoiu have to arrange Customs/Brokerage yourself and get the car SVA approved which is the test to get it to UK standard. Theres only a handful of places that specialise in this and they charge a bomb.
Plus you are also buying the car blind so any problems and you'll be stuffed

I looked at importing my Lightning myself from the USA but it was too much hassle, i got a company to source me one to the spec i want, transport it to the dock, ship it, take care of customs etc and the SVA and then even deliver it to my door.

Yeah, im lookin to import an N/A MR2 and have about £4.5 to spend (all in Shipping, registering etc). Hope to get a high spec one with some kit on, about a K reg will be ok. They only seem to deal in more expensive imports

Any others?
